Growth Product Manager – Retention (m/f/d)

Usercentrics

Location : Hybrid in Munich (minimum of 2 days a week from the office)

Overview

Usercentrics is a global leader in data privacy and privacy‑led marketing solutions. We believe there is no need for a trade‑off between growth and privacy compliance. Our vision is to unlock the potential of data privacy to empower a thriving digital ecosystem. We work with companies to create a healthy balance between data‑driven business and privacy‑led marketing for every size of enterprise. Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.

We are looking for a data‑driven, execution‑focused Growth Product Manager for Retention to operationalise our retention strategy and drive measurable improvements across churn reduction, retained ARR, and Net and Gross Revenue Retention. This role is accountable for turning strategy into shipped product initiatives, owning day‑to‑day execution, experimentation, and performance tracking. You will work hands‑on across the customer lifecycle, from early engagement and activation through cancellation prevention, payment recovery, and win‑back, while operating at the intersection of product, data, and GTM execution. This role is ideal for a PM who enjoys owning outcomes, moving fast, and collaborating deeply across functions.

Your Tasks

  • Own the operational retention roadmap and backlog, translating strategy into clear problems, hypotheses, and shipped solutions.
  • Drive measurable impact on churn rate, GRR, NRR, and retained ARR.
  • Analyze behavioural, lifecycle, and revenue data to identify leading churn signals and high‑impact opportunities.
  • Partner with Data and Finance to ensure retention metrics are trustworthy, automated, and decision‑ready.
  • Design and deliver initiatives across onboarding improvements, in‑product engagement, cancellation flows, discounting logic, payment recovery, and win‑back.
  • Own requirements, prioritisation, delivery, and post‑launch evaluation.
  • Design and run experiments and A/B tests to validate retention hypotheses and optimise save rates and engagement.
  • Use learnings to continuously refine retention mechanics and customer experiences.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Design to deliver scalable retention solutions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, and RevOps to align product‑led and GTM retention efforts.
  • Monitor and report retention performance, experiment results, and insights to stakeholders.
  • Contribute insights and ideas back into retention strategy discussions and quarterly planning.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Growth Product Manager in SaaS.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience working with product and revenue data.
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous problems into structured experiments and shipped outcomes.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, and GTM teams.
  • Comfort operating in fast‑paced environments with a strong bias toward execution and impact.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes.
  • Structured problem solver who enjoys both analysis and delivery.
  • Comfortable balancing operational execution with ideation and experimentation.
  • Clear communicator who can align stakeholders and drive momentum.
  • Data‑driven decision maker with a pragmatic approach to testing and learning.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in product‑led growth environments.
  • Hands‑on experience owning retention, churn reduction, or lifecycle initiatives.
  • Familiarity with subscription business models and retention metrics such as NRR and GRR.
  • Experience with cancellation flows, pricing or discount experimentation, or payment recovery.
  • Exposure to experimentation frameworks or feature flagging tools.

We encourage applications from all backgrounds. Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Usercentrics we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway.
