Hardware Design Engineer (Circuit Design Engineer)

Overview

The Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic circuits and hardware systems for company products.

This role involves schematic design, PCB layout collaboration, component selection, prototyping, and validation to ensure reliable and efficient hardware performance.

The engineer works closely with embedded developers, mechanical engineers, and production teams to deliver high-quality and cost-effective electronic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital electronic circuits according to project requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed schematics using professional EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD).
• Select appropriate components based on performance, cost, and availability.
• Collaborate with PCB designers to optimize board layout for manufacturability and signal integrity.
• Develop and test prototypes, troubleshoot circuit issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Conduct simulations and analysis (signal integrity, power, EMC/EMI).
• Support firmware and system integration teams during hardware testing.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and revision control.
• Ensure hardware designs meet quality standards and relevant safety or certification requirements (e.g., CE, FCC).
• Participate in continuous improvement of design processes and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2–5+ years) in hardware or circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Proficiency in schematic design and PCB design software (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, etc.).
• Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, power management, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (SMT, PCB fabrication, assembly).
• Familiarity with measurement instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator).
• Ability to read datasheets, application notes, and technical documentation in English.
• Good understanding of EMC/ESD design principles.
