Head of Accounting and Finance

About the Company: One of our clients, a Freight Forwarding business in Düsseldorf, is seeking a Head of Finance and Accounting.

About the Role: As the Head of Finance and Accounting, you will oversee financial matters for two companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly and yearly closing, and financial reporting
• Bookkeeping
• General Ledger
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Reviewing, restructuring, optimizing, and managing bookkeeping operations with internal assistants and external tax advisors
• Treasury, cash pooling, and cash flow management
• Supporting and advising managing directors on finance and accounting matters
• Handling all other ad hoc finance and accounting tasks
• Managing payroll, which is currently outsourced but may be brought in-house in the future

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field above
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
• Strong knowledge of book keeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience with selecting and implementing accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Ability to work creatively and flexibly, and good team-work
• Proficiency in German and English
