Head of Method Development — Boehringer Ingelheim

As Head of Method Development, you will lead our chromatography laboratory and shape the development of analytical methods that ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of our pharmaceutical products in the Animal Health division.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Leading and advancing chromatographic methods for the characterization of active ingredients, pharmaceuticals, and excipients
• Ensuring robust analytical results with a focus on content determination, degradation products, stability profiles and degradation pathways
• Taking ownership of method validation and transfer to support CMC dossiers and product launches
• Managing internal and external chromatographic activities with operational excellence
• Strategically aligning method development with global development goals
• Fostering a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Driving innovation and contributing to the global analytical strategy

Requirements

• PhD (or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Extensive experience in analytical chemistry, particularly in chromatographic techniques
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and direct reports
• Strong communication skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation capabilities
• Results‑driven working style with a focus on regulatory requirements and quality standards
• Fluent English is essential; proficiency in German is a plus

Recruitment Process
