Head of Client Delivery

The Client Delivery Director leads the delivery function across the agency and is responsible for the operational excellence. This role plays a critical part in aligning workflow standards with client and agency goals, improving efficiency and removing barriers to delivery and team performance. This role requires strategic thinking, operational leadership, and a deep understanding of how to scale delivery excellence across functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and execution of high-complexity, multi-stream programs
• Define and align delivery strategies across Syneos businesses and regions
• Anticipate operational risks and lead proactive mitigation planning
• Lead delivery approach in strategic internal and client meetings.

Resourcing & Budget Planning

• Lead long-term resourcing plans and evolution of sourcing.
• Ensure optimal team utilisation and manage capacity with department leads
• Lead financial oversight for key clients in partnership with Finance and Account leads.
• Champion accountability in the delivery function, ensuring projects align with margin expectations and client scope.
• Develop and mentor client delivery talent
• Cultivate a high-performing collaborative team culture
• Serve as strategic partner to cross-functional and client leads
• Champion retrospective culture and shared learning across teams

Operational Excellence

• Shape and evolve delivery standards, frameworks, and practices.
• Drive continuous evolution of tools, SOPs and governance structures and lead implementation
• Solve cross-team barriers and unlock delivery performance.

Process & Documentation

• Own process evolution, documentation standards, and compliance
• Own the agency’s project health and documentation standards

Requirements

• Master’s degree or similar degree in relevant area
• Experience in senior delivery/project leadership roles in an agency environment
• Proven track record managing large-scale engagements with high delivery complexity.
• Strong operational and financial leadership capabilities
• Demonstrated success in mentoring and growing teams
• Deep expertise in delivery platforms (e.g., WRIKE), project reporting tools, and cross-functional workflow design.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
