Head of Machine Learning

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to head our Machine Learning department. In this key role, you will be responsible for guiding the ML team, setting a clear technical vision, and ensuring our AI-driven solutions bring measurable value to the business.

Our platform supports major players in industries such as FMCG, Retail, and Telecommunications with advanced tools for optimizing revenue and growth strategies. At the heart of our product is a unique generative model of consumer behavior, developed by the ML team, that transforms raw data into predictive insights.

As Head of Machine Learning, you will oversee the development of this core technology, along with other machine learning features, while working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Your work will directly impact the companys position as a leader in behavioral modeling and revenue optimization.

Your Responsibilities

ML Strategy : Define and drive the machine learning roadmap, ensuring it aligns closely with overall business objectives.

Team Leadership : Lead and grow a high-performing team of Data Scientists, encouraging collaboration and professional development across sub-teams.

Business Alignment : Ensure machine learning efforts address real business challenges and generate clear, measurable outcomes.

Operational Excellence : Establish and refine scalable, efficient processes for ML workflows and model deployment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Foster strong communication with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, and Business to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.

Technology Leadership : Keep up with the latest ML trends and integrate emerging technologies that provide a competitive edge.

Governance & Reliability : Promote high standards for model reproducibility, MLOps, data quality, and long-term scalability.

Your Profile

• Experience : 8+ years in Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Team Management : Demonstrated success in building and leading technical teams.
• Technical Strength : Deep knowledge of ML development, data systems, and ideally MLOps. Strong skills in Python and modern ML frameworks; cloud experience (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Business Understanding : Skilled at translating business needs into analytical and mathematical models.
• Education : Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or Physics.
• Operational Mindset : Proven track record of improving processes and enabling efficiency in data and ML teams.
• Collaboration Skills : Excellent communicator with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in product-focused environments with embedded ML systems, particularly in B2B SaaS.
• Familiarity with Agile workflows for data and engineering teams.
• Industry experience in FMCG, Retail, or Telecommunications.
• Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-moving organizations such as startups or consultancies.
