Position Overview

Head of QC/Stability at Boehringer Ingelheim

As Head of QC and Stability Testing, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance across Boehringer Ingelheim AH’s pharmaceutical development activities. You will oversee internal and external analytical operations with a focus on GMP‑compliant release testing and stability studies, contributing directly to the quality and success of our drug development pipeline.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Develop and implement robust analytical methods for characterizing drug substances, excipients, and packaging materials, focusing on content, degradation, and stability.
Oversee GMP‑compliant testing and release of APIs, drug products, excipients, and packaging materials to support development and clinical manufacturing processes.
Conduct long‑term and accelerated stability studies, adhering to VICH guidelines to guarantee product quality and meet regulatory requirements.
Validate and transfer analytical methods for drug substances, formulations, excipients, and packaging materials to support CMC submissions and product launches.
Align local QC and stability operations with global development strategies, ensuring consistency and excellence across all activities.

Requirements

PhD (or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences with strong expertise in pharmaceutical analysis.
Proven leadership experience, including team management and direct supervision, supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong operational mindset with the ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate effectively, and drive results.
Regulatory and quality‑focused, with sound decision‑making skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Positive and proactive attitude, with a willingness to take calculated risks to foster innovation.
Fluency in German and English.
