Head of Radio Engineering

You will be responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of the RAN Engineering team. In this role, you will actively shape the development of our mobile network and make a significant contribution to the quality and innovation of our RAN domain:

• Leading and developing the RAN Engineering team, including resource and capacity management
• Responsibility for the optimization and further development of the 1&1 O-RAN mobile access network (4G/5G)
• Selection and technical management of hardware and software suppliers
• Prioritization and management of projects for the introduction of new technologies and features
• Close, continuous, and trust-based collaboration with internal departments as well as external partners and vendors
• Cooperation with regulatory authorities and ensuring compliance with legal requirements (e.g., BNetzA, EMF guidelines)
• Ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and timeline targets
• Promoting innovation and continuous improvement within the team
• Preparing decision-making documents for senior management

Profilbeschreibung:

In addition to a relevant university degree, you bring:

• Several years of experience in RAN engineering
• Deep understanding of modern mobile network architectures
• Proven experience in leading diverse, international teams and fostering a respectful team culture
• Passion for innovative mobile technologies and commitment to advancing our O-RAN network
• A pragmatic and solution-oriented working style
• Ability to communicate technical topics effectively and convincingly to management, partners, and regulatory bodies
• Business-fluent English skills; German language skills are a plus
