The Role
We’re looking for a Head of Risk to lead the development and execution of our enterprise-wide risk strategy. This role balances innovation with operational stability and regulatory compliance in the fast-moving world of digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the CEO and oversee all areas of risk management (excluding AML).
• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks (credit, market, liquidity) and operational risks (fraud, technology, cybersecurity).
• Design and implement a dynamic Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework that supports business strategy.
• Advise senior management and the Board on the company’s risk profile, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
• Lead market, credit, and liquidity risk frameworks to ensure proper exposure management and capital adequacy.
• Strengthen operational risk controls across custody, wallets, onboarding, payments, and service operations.
• Work closely with engineering and cybersecurity teams to protect systems, data, and business continuity.
• Partner with Legal and Compliance to anticipate and respond to global regulatory developments.
• Develop advanced risk analytics and reporting (dashboards, scenario planning, stress testing).
• Act as the senior sponsor for incident response, reviews, and lessons learned.
• Build and lead a high-performing risk team and foster a strong risk-aware culture across the company.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years in risk management, with 3+ years in a leadership role in fintech, crypto, banking, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain, crypto markets, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience building and running ERM frameworks.
• Skilled in working with regulators, auditors, and senior stakeholders.
• Expertise in market and liquidity risk, stress testing, and capital adequacy.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and operational resilience.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, risk management, or related field. Professional certifications (FRM, PRM, CFA) are a plus.
