HR Adviser – German Employment Law (Freelance or Project-Based)

The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced HR Consultant in Germany to provide expert guidance on employment law, HR compliance, and workforce policies. This freelance role is ideal for a professional who has supported international companies in navigating German labor law and ensuring compliance with local regulations. You will play a key role in helping our organisation remain compliant, advising on employment contracts, HR policies, and regulatory updates, while providing clear, practical advice to an international management team. Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting and reviewing German employment contracts (permanent, fixed-term, part-time).Advising on compliance with German employment law (Arbeitsrecht), including working hours, leave, probation, and termination.Providing guidance on works councils (Betriebsrat) and collective agreements where applicable.Ensuring compliance with social security, payroll obligations, and statutory benefits.Advising on employee policies, handbooks, and GDPR compliance in HR matters.Providing proactive updates on legal and regulatory changes.Supporting international management with clear guidance in English. What We’re Looking ForProven expertise in German employment law (Arbeitsrecht).Experience advising international/foreign employers in Germany.Strong knowledge of German HR compliance (contracts, works councils, payroll, GDPR).Ability to provide documentation, templates, and compliance updates.Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)Professional liability insurance and confidentiality protocols in place. Contract DetailsEngagement type: Freelance or project basis.Duration: Ongoing projects with flexible terms.Rate: Competitive hourly/daily rate based on experience.
