HR Business Partner / Head of HR
As a deep-tech scale-up, we build complex technology with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, ownership, and continuous learning. We are looking for our first HR leader who will build and lead the HR function end-to-end and support the company through its next phase of growth.
This role combines strategic ownership with a hands‑on mindset. You will define HR foundations, implement scalable processes, and act as a trusted partner to leadership while fostering a strong and healthy company culture.
Your Role
As our first HR hire, you will build, structure, and lead the HR function and act as a strategic partner to management.
HR Strategy & Foundations
- Build and own the HR strategy aligned with business growth and company values
- Define and implement scalable HR processes, policies, and governance
- Establish HR as a trusted partner for leadership and employees
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Design and execute a long‑term hiring strategy aligned with business needs
- Partner closely with hiring managers on workforce planning and recruiting priorities
- Continuously improve hiring processes, employer branding, and candidate experience
Performance, Feedback & Talent Development
- Design and implement performance management, feedback, and review cycles
- Facilitate talent reviews, calibrations, and development discussions
- Translate performance and people data into actionable development and retention initiatives
HR Operations & Systems
- Own and further develop Personio as the central HR system
- Ensure smooth HR operations across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, contracts, changes, offboarding)
- Improve and automate workflows to ensure efficiency and scalability
Culture & Employee Experience
- Actively foster a strong, inclusive, and feedback‑driven culture
- Support leaders in people‑related topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and team development
- Promote engagement, collaboration, and continuous learning across the organization
What You Bring
Experience & Skills
- 5–7+ years of experience in people or talent management roles, ideally as a (Senior) HR Business Partner
- Experience building or scaling HR processes in a fast‑growing or complex organization
- Strong knowledge of the German HR ecosystem and HR best practices
- Hands‑on experience with Personio
- Proven experience in performance management, talent development, and cultural initiatives
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel
- Fluency in English and German (written and spoken)
