HR Payroll Specialist (M/W) – Newrest Frankfurt

Newrest, a global leader in catering and business services, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Payroll Specialist to join our HR team in Frankfurt. As HR Payroll Specialist, you will work closely with our external payroll provider (ADP) and internal departments to ensure precise and timely payroll processing for all employees. Your role is essential to ensuring a compliant, efficient and employee‑friendly payroll experience at Newrest Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing in collaboration with our external payroll provider (ADP)
  • Coordinate and manage data flow between HR and ADP: new hires, terminations, changes in compensation, absences, bonuses, etc.
  • Review payroll results for accuracy, including tax and social security compliance
  • Monitor and manage working hours, overtime, vacation balances and absences
  • Act as first point of contact for employees regarding payroll‑related questions and issues
  • Maintain and update payroll database and employee records in accordance with legal requirements
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, collective agreements, and internal policies
  • Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities (payroll reports, accruals, audits)
  • Monitor payroll‑related KPIs and help prepare HR reports (e.g. headcount, overtime, sick leave)
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external partners (e.g. tax authorities, insurance providers)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and HR systems

Qualifications

  • Degree or vocational training in Human Resources, Payroll, Finance or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar payroll or HR operations role, ideally in a multinational environment
  • Solid knowledge of German payroll legislation, social insurance, taxation and time tracking regulations
  • Experience working with external payroll providers (ideally ADP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with payroll/timekeeping systems is an advantage
  • High level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee data
  • Proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
