Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated HVDC Project Engineer to support the delivery of a high-profile high-voltage direct current (HVDC) infrastructure project in Bavaria. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in high-voltage systems, with hands-on experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and substation operations.

This is a site-based role, requiring full-time presence on the primary project location, with travel to various substations as needed across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of HVDC systems and components.
• Support the installation, start-up, and integration of high-voltage substation equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support and resolution for issues arising during construction and commissioning phases.
• Prepare and maintain documentation including commissioning reports, test procedures, and technical logs.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved in line with the schedule, cost, and quality expectations.
• Participate in technical meetings and contribute to ongoing improvements in project delivery.

Requirements:

3–5+ years’ experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, or engineering of high-voltage systems, ideally within HVDC projects.
Demonstrable experience with substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, GIS/AIS, and protection/control systems.
Technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple substation locations.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to various sites (locations to be confirmed).
Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
