Information Technology Buyer

AVA Energy are currently supporting our global leading OEM in the Power Generation sector with their search for a Global Category Buyer (IT) to join our international procurement team. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end sourcing and category strategy for IT solutions – including software, hardware, and digital services – across multiple regions.

You'll play a key role in driving strategic vendor partnerships, optimising spend, and leading contract negotiations with global IT providers to support the company's digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies for software, hardware, and IT services.
• Lead RFP/RFQ processes, contract negotiations, and supplier evaluations for key IT vendors.
• Manage commercial relationships with major software and hardware providers, ensuring optimal value and compliance.
• Discuss with global stakeholders in IT, finance, and legal to align procurement decisions with business goals.
• Analyse spend data and identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Procurement, IT, or a related field.
• 7+ years' experience in IT category management, strategic sourcing, or global procurement.
• Proven track record in negotiating complex software and hardware agreements.
• Strong understanding of licensing models, cloud solutions, and IT service contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English
