High‑Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) is a key enabler for a carbon‑neutral energy system. It is highly efficient for transmitting large amounts of electricity over long distances, integrating renewables and interconnecting grids, opening for new sustainable transmission solutions. By joining the HVDC team in Germany (DEHVDC) you will be contributing to the energy transition in Germany and around the world.
You will be leading a team of installation experts, responsible for the installation and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment procured and delivered by Hitachi Energy. To perform the works under your responsibility you and the rest of the installation team will manage subcontractors performing the works. As Installation Manager you will plan, coordinate and manage the Hitachi Energy team to assure project targets and milestones related to safety, quality, schedule and budget are met.
This role is site‑based with travel included. The first project assignment will be based in Germany in Wilster, Schleswig-Holstein, as part of the Südlink DC4 project for approximately 24 months. After completion we have future projects in Germany and globally, so candidates must be willing to travel.
Your main mission: manage installations on site (both AC and DC) in high‑voltage projects.
Coordinate with engineering office to ensure needed documentation is used at site during execution and provide mark‑ups for as‑built project documentation.
• Technical education, preferably a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or acquired previous experience in electrical‑ or mechanical installation work in large‑scale projects.
• 6–8 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience managing people is required.
• Installation management experience is required.
• Previous electrical and/or mechanical installation experience is required.
• Preferred: experience from HVDC, FACTS or substation projects.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
Collective wage agreement from IG Metall (Baden-Württemberg) including special payments.
