We're a fast-growing, fully remote startup based in Cologne, Germany. Our mission is to help nomads and world residents stay healthy and live well wherever they go, with great worldwide health insurance.

As our Insurance Innovator at Genki, you will play a key role in developing and improving our insurance products and processes and building high-quality, customer-friendly health insurance products. This full-time role is perfect for someone proactive, independent, and passionate about transforming the insurance industry.

What you'll do

As our Insurance Innovator, you'll lead and accelerate the development and evolution of Genki's health insurance products. You'll ensure we meet regulatory standards while creating innovative, user-centered solutions for a worldwide customer base. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with him.

• Develop and continuously improve our health insurance products.
• Lead the design and development of new products (from ideation to launch)
• Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory shifts to extend Genki's competitive edge
• Enhance insurance-related processes within the company
• Build and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge bases for all our insurance products and processes.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with our insurance partners and service providers.
• Train our team on relevant insurance knowledge to ensure high-quality service.
• Explore opportunities for product or service enhancements, including potential B2B expansion.
• Stay on top of claims, loss ratios, and fraud detection & prevention.
• Ensure we comply with all relevant insurance regulations.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Experience developing or managing insurance products, ideally in health insurance
• Product mindset — You think in customer journeys and MVPs, not just compliance and insurance lingo. You question the status quo rather than repeating history.
• Proven expertise in insurance-related compliance and regulations
• Solid understanding of German insurance regulation and qualified according to §34d GewO (German Industrial Code)
• German residency as required by law to maintain our IHK registration
• Fluent in German and proficient in English
• Bonus: Experience in a digital-first insurer, InsurTech, or startup environment
