We are looking for an Integrated Ground Control Engineer to support the Galileo Ground Segment Management Office within the Directorate of Navigation, providing services for the Galileo and EGNOS programmes. The Galileo Programme, managed by the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with EUSPA, drives the development and validation of the EU’s satellite navigation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication with the GMS, SECMON, and GCS teams to ensure smooth operation of the LAN Galileo Networks (e.g., MDDN, SDDN, and EDDN), including all security devices.
- Collaborate with the GMS, SECMON, and GCS teams to manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, covering services such as directories, DNS, and time synchronization.
- Oversee and support activities related to the monitoring and control infrastructure across all systems.
- Assist the system team in managing interfaces with the Wide Area Network (GDDN and GRON), ensuring technical compliance and proper integration of all customer-provided items and undertakings.
- Contribute to the delivery of Ground Segment and System milestones by closely tracking progress and ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
- Support the system team in managing interfaces within the Ground Segment and across other segments, including the Space Segment and system test environments.
- Participate in reviews, coordination meetings, and any additional tasks needed to support the Ground Segment activities.
- Act as a point of coordination with ESA for service‑related topics and collaborate with the OPS‑O Galileo Support Delivery Coordinator to ensure effective service delivery.
Specific/Product Skills
- Solid technical background and knowledge of physical and virtual networking as well as IT infrastructure
- Experience in writing requirements
- Experience in following project implementation
- Experience in AIV
- Experience in setting and following SLA through KPIs
- Experience in procurement activities
- Experience in Space System and Segment activities and reviews
- Experience in the Space business and in the GNSS field. Past experience in the Galileo programme would be extremely useful.
