For our client, we are looking for an Interim Head of Data & AI, with both technical experience as well as team management and business acumen around AI and data management transformations.
MissionLead and execute the company’s data and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy to deliver measurable business value through data monetization.Key Responsibilities1. Data & AI StrategyDevelop and implement a global data and AI strategy aligned with business goals, focusing on value realization and revenue generation.Identify, design, and deliver high-impact data and AI use cases (e.g., underwriting optimization, fraud detection, dynamic pricing, customer personalization, operational efficiency).Create opportunities to monetize data assets directly (data products, partnerships) or indirectly (enhanced customer experiences, market insights).Advise executive leadership on data and AI innovations to unlock new business models and revenue streams.Collaborate across departments (finance, marketing, operations) to identify data-driven opportunities and needs.
2. Data Monetization ExecutionGrow Data Science & AI capabilities; oversee development and implementation of predictive models and advanced analytics.Leverage traditional and generative AI (LLM/SLM-based, AI agents) for intelligent automation of core business processes.Drive adoption of AI/ML solutions for predictive customer behavior, risk modeling, and real-time decision-making.Enhance underwriting and marketing processes through predictive modeling and actionable insights.
3. Data GovernanceEnsure robust data governance and management frameworks for high-quality, trustworthy data, adhering to global regulations.Oversee data privacy and security initiatives.Implement scalable data platforms and democratize analytics access.Standardize data management practices (ownership, observability, dictionaries, glossaries, lineage, reference data, quality standards).
4. Technology PlatformsDevelop and maintain technology platforms supporting data management and governance.Ensure continuity of systems supporting Finance (CFO) and Actuarial & Risk (CRO).Collaborate with business units to fulfill requirements, develop applications/systems, and support operations.
5. Data-Driven CultureInspire a culture of data literacy and innovation across the organization.Lead change management to embed data-driven decision-making.Collaborate with HR to build a global data and AI academy for continuous learning.Roll out tools and practices supporting data democratization.
Decision-Making AuthoritySome decisions can be made independently; others require supervisor consultation.
ContactsInternal: Across organizational units and departments.External: Occasional contact with agencies, institutions, vendors, clients, and media.
QualificationsEducationHigher education (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Experience7–10 years in Data & AI or related fields, including at least 3–5 years in managerial roles.Proven track record in business transformation through data and AI strategies.Experience implementing large AI initiatives with measurable business impact.
Language SkillsAdvanced English (C1 level).
Required Skills & CompetenciesDeep understanding of data management, analytics, BI trends, and technologies.Knowledge of AI/ML technologies, analytical platforms, and Generative AI.Strategic thinking to translate business needs into technical solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and presentation abilities.Thorough understanding of data governance, data quality, AI ethics, and global compliance (GDPR, CCPA, AI governance frameworks).Leadership and team management skills; ability to influence across the organization.
