UniCredit is one of the top advisors for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) in Europe, advising more than 70 M&A transactions every year. Byjoining the Advisory team, you will be able to support a team with market-leading positions in all of its core markets, being within the Top 5Mergermarket League Table position in all of its core markets (excl. auditors). The Advisory team, as part of Corporate & InvestmentBanking, consists of more than 100 professionals in offices in Italy, Germany, Austria and CEE, of which 7 focus on Financial Institutions.
What you'll be doing
Our dedicated team comprises the origination and execution of transactions in the area of M&A for Financial Institutions (banks, insurance companies, asset managers etc.). Thus, after getting insights on the technicaland practical knowhow, you will support the dedicated FI sector team:
- Prepare and support on pitch presentations
- Support in preparing strategic discussions with our clients
- Research and evaluate potential targets and investors, as well as sector‑specific regulation
- Conduct company valuations and support with financial models
- Being exposed to various sub‑sectors (banks, insurance, etc) and analyze their market dynamics
- Develop buy‑and sell‑side structures
- Assist on the preparation and execution of existing M&A mandates, e.g., preparation of process documents and due diligence proceeding
What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent academic achievements in an advanced stage of Business Studies or related courses of study with a proven interest in corporate finance or investment banking, affinity to the FI sector
- Completed internship at a prestigious national/international business
- Highly developed analytical and quantitative skills combined with the willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge in fundamental and market‑oriented valuation methods (DCF, DDM, multiples)
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant IT systems (MS Office, especially solid excel skills)
- Fluency in English in speach and writing, German and/or Italian are a plus
