Key responsibilities

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid

In close collaboration with our research team, you will engage in prototyping and realization of demonstrators, e.g., of future industrial networks, Industry 4.0, role of ML in industrial networking or innovative industrial networking solutions protecting our customers.

More specifically, you will implement LLM-based methods to interact with the network and understand the situation, events and failures in an industrial network. You will first work on the solutions that collect the data to fine-tune general LLM models and then interactively improve the performance of the model based on what the industrial network provides as logs, events, warnings, etc.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Investigating the possibility of collecting text data e.g., logs from the network infrastructure
• Developing a method that can use the collected data to fine-tune the general LLM models
• Evaluating the performance of LLMs for extracting knowledge from such data to provide network observability
• Developing a prototype that can interact with the network as a chatbot to present the data

Qualifications for the role

• You have a study background in communication systems, machine learning, computer science, engineering or similar knowledge from software engineering and development experience.
• We expect you to bring creativity, initiative and result orientation to support driving our innovations toward new products and services.
• You bring experience with networking, especially Ethernet-based networking, in addition to your background in ML solutions. Having experience in automatic code generation (e.g., working with CodeT5), LLMs, Generative AI in addition to having good understanding about industrial networks and Intent-based networking can be considered as big advantages.
• You are highly motivated, team-minded, and able to work independently.
• Fluent English in verbal and written form is required.
