Global IS Dep Manager for Service DM IT

At ABB, we are looking for an IS Portfolio Manager for Technology and Platform Demand who will play a critical role in shaping and driving our digital transformation journey. This is your opportunity to work with infrastructure services such as hosting, cloud, networks, and monitoring while collaborating with senior leaders and global teams. In this role, you’ll manage complex portfolios and influence how ABB delivers technology and platforms worldwide, ensuring business value and innovation at every stage.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the identification, planning, and coordination of a set of related programs and/or projects in a portfolio. Each day, you will be managing the interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives. You will also showcase your expertise by providing framework for implementing business initiatives or medium‑scale change, and communicating the outcomes and associated benefits.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Information Systems – Service & Performance Department, Technology and Platforms Demand and Consultancy in global delivery with regional collaboration. Main stakeholders are CIO, Business Area Infrastructure Leads, Country IS Managers, Core IS Strategy & Excellence Portfolio Manager, Global IS Service & Performance Lead, Demand & Consultancy Manager, and Regional Service Delivery Managers.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Defining the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule, and detailed work allocation for the projects within the programs of the portfolio, in coordination with key stakeholders.
• Ensuring alignment of portfolios to business strategy, through strategic and/or periodic planning and reviews, establishing effective governance for the portfolios.
• Reporting risk on program level and balancing between quality and cost objectives.
• Organizing, monitoring, and controlling activities effectively to ensure achievement of planned stage‑gates and efficient utilization of available resources, monitoring and reporting status and managing the budget and all financials associated with portfolio.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in portfolio and project management methodologies, Agile practices, process improvement, governance, risk, and compliance frameworks in the Information Systems / IT services domain.
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in managing complex IT project portfolios across hosting, cloud, network, and monitoring services, with 10–12 years of relevant experience.
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of and qualifications in ITIL 4 Foundation, with preferred certifications in Agile, PMP, or ITIL advanced levels.
• You are passionate about stakeholder management, strategic planning, and effective communication, and you are innovative around problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
• Degree in STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent professional experience.
• You are at ease communicating in English across business and technical stakeholders in a global environment.
