Join us as a Ground Controller for the Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS) and help Earth benefit from space.
Job Requirements
- Execution of Ground Segment Operations
- Columbus and ISS increment operations
- Docking, undocking and other video support
- Management of services and communication lines
- Operation of the data, voice, video and other subsystems
- Coordination of Columbus operations with Columbus Flight Control Team, subsystem engineers and external partners such as NASA and ROSCOSMOS
- Perform real time ground segment operations according to timeline, procedures and flight rules
- 24/7 operations support (shift work)
- Level 1 maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support all ESA Ground Segment users
- Troubleshoot in real time Ground Segment problems and anomalies
- On‑line trouble ticket processing
- Reporting
- Contribute to mission and increment reporting logs
- Engineering
- Support of requirements definition and implementation of the Ground Segment for increment activities
- Preparation and execution of training sessions on the Ground Segment
- Development of new operational procedures
- Preparation, validation and maintenance of GCT procedures
- Coordination of interface changes
- Preparation, execution and documentation of interface tests, simulations
- Support and preparation of Test Readiness Reviews
Job Responsibilities
- University degree in Engineering or working experience in ground segment operations
- System‑mindful
- Ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary team
- Fluency in English
- German language skill is a plus
- Experience in (Ground) Operation is a plus
