IT Help Desk Intern

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an IT Help Desk Intern (part-time, 15-20 hours per week). This position will be in Rolla, MO.

Summary

Provide IT support to employees in response to requests and create documentation. Participate in planning, design, documentation, and assembly of IT systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, trouble tickets, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
• Documenting and reporting issues presented to the Help Desk; accountability for reported “Level One” issues, and responsibility for escalation of “Level Two” issues.
• Documenting procedures for setup, installation, maintenance and repair of systems under the control of the IT Division.
• Conduct hardware and software inventory database setups, installations, upgrades, maintenance and reporting.
• Setup and installation of computers and other electronic equipment.
• Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide one-on-one end‑user training as needed.
• Assist in inventory management for IT related devices, organization of the Help Desk and IT storage areas, and electronic recycling.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Strong desire to grow and enhance skill set.
• Willingness to accept other duties as assigned.

Credentials and Education

• Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science & Technology or relevant major.
