Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Insurance‑Linked Securities team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as an IT Specialist / Underwriter Fronting .

In this role, you underwrite reinsurance contracts worldwide and transfer the risks to investment funds. In addition to your core responsibilities as an underwriter, you actively contribute to the automation of our processes in close collaboration with Hannover Re’s IT team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyse reinsurance contracts and transfer the risks to investment funds.
• Ensure that the investment funds provide sufficient collateral.
• Regularly interact with external business partners, including cedents, reinsurance brokers, and investment fund managers, to discuss their needs.
• Visit customers, introduce new products, and present innovative concepts such as new contract models.
• Develop, structure and negotiate retrocession contracts and oversee their ongoing controlling.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues from both the business and IT departments.

Qualifications

• Completed master’s degree in (Business) Informatics or a related field with a relevant IT focus.
• Strong interest in IT and technology, ideally with initial experience in process automation.
• Initial professional experience in (re)insurance or the financial sector is an advantage.
• Business‑level English and at least conversational German, combined with excellent communication skills in an international environment.
• Ability to analyse, structure and present complex topics and processes in a clear, audience‑appropriate manner, along with a strong team spirit.
