For a globally operating financial services organisation with a strong presence in Germany, we are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to support and further develop a modern, secure IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring stable IT operations, implementing modern hardware and software solutions, and providing high-quality internal support while adhering to the latest IT security and data protection standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyse hardware and software requirements and manage procurement
• Install, configure and maintain complex IT systems, networks and applications
• Ensure system availability and performance through proactive monitoring and timely measures
• Manage updates, backups and user support to ensure smooth daily operations
• Administer servers and applications, including access permissions and security policies
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinating with vendors where required
• Propose and implement sustainable technical solutions in collaboration with internal and external IT teams
• Protect systems against internal and external threats by developing and enforcing security guidelines
• Provide 2nd level support to internal departments
• Customise systems and applications and advise on the selection and implementation of business software
• Train and support end users in the effective use of IT systems

Your Profile

Strong technical knowledge of:

• Microsoft Active Directory
• TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6)
• VMware & HCI environments
• MS SQL Server
• Completed degree in Computer Science or comparable vocational training (e.g. IT Specialist) with relevant professional experience
• Several years of hands-on experience in the support, monitoring and maintenance of IT infrastructures
• Solid experience in troubleshooting and adapting IT systems
• Additional training or strong knowledge in IT security and IT law
• Very good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
• Independent, proactive and solution-oriented working style
• Excellent communication skills in English and German
