Japanese Speaking Finance Manager

A well‑known Japanese company is currently seeking a hands‑on, strategic Finance Manager to lead local finance operations. Serving as the head of the finance department reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations including reporting to HQs in Japan.

Job code: MY47283. Type: Permanent with 6‑month probation. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week. Salary up to €100K depending on experience, plus company car and generous pension scheme. Start: ASAP. Location: Krefeld (Office basis in general as standard policy; hybrid can be applicable only where there are special circumstances that merit consideration).

Finance Manager Main Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and audit the entire accounting and finance operation.
• Supervise the Accounts Assistant and confirm accounting entries with supporting documents.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing within prescribed deadlines.
• Conduct and interpret variance analysis on a monthly basis and discuss the results with other departments and board members.
• Approve daily incoming/outgoing payments.
• Coordinate internal and external auditing processes and provide support to auditors.
• Communicate with banks and confirm import/export and currency transactions.
• Analyze financial data to support strategic business decisions.
• Develop internal controls and continuously improve manual processes (Excel‑based) due to current system limitations.

Finance Manager Ideal Candidate

• Hands‑on accounting experience, ideally within an accounting firm.
• Experience of monthly and yearly closing.
• Experience creating budgets and analysis.
• Good verbal and written Japanese, English, and German language skills.
• Ability to work and communicate well with internal and external stakeholders.
