Java Software Engineer

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Java & Kotlin Developer to join our client’s dynamic fintech team in Berlin. This is a hybrid role (2 days onsite), offering the opportunity to work on high-impact projects in the financial technology space.

Key Details

• Start date: 15th September 2025 (must be available)
• Location: Berlin (hybrid, 2 days onsite per week)
• Duration: Full-time permanent OR contract.
• Language: English.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java and Kotlin
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering) to deliver scalable solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Java and Kotlin
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, and microservices
• Experience with relational databases and cloud-based environments (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently within a collaborative team

Nice to Have

• Fintech or payments industry experience
• Exposure to Spring Boot and related frameworks
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
