Overview

JDRoss have partnered with a business who, have been planning, building and operating photovoltaic systems and BESS for 25 years, both for customers and their own portfolio.

The lead engineer position will focus mainly on BESS projects here and where they are currently working on the implementation of 6 BESS project portfolios between 15-60MW each.

Responsibilities

• Overall technical responsibility for the electrotechnical planning and implementation of large-scale battery storage systems (BESS) and utility-scale PV projects
• Design of grid connection concepts, medium/high voltage systems and protection systems
• Development and support of the SCADA architecture for monitoring, control and data evaluation
• Evaluation and selection of central technical components (batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.)
• Leading and developing an engineering team of 5-10 people
• Definition and quality assurance of technical scope of services within our EPC (EPCM) projects
• Support with technical tenders, awarding contracts and commissioning
• Close cooperation with internal interfaces such as project development, purchasing and operations

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable
• At least 10 years of professional experience in the implementation of large-scale projects in the field of renewable energies
• In-depth knowledge of grid integration, protection technology, SCADA systems and electrical system planning
• Experience in leading technical teams and building efficient processes
• Basic understanding of programming (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C++) as well as initial experience in the field of artificial intelligence, especially in the definition of use cases and efficient prompting
