DATAGROUP ist einer der führenden deutschen IT-Dienstleister. Als Mainframe‑Programmierer unterstützen Sie unsere Kunden bei der Wartung, Optimierung und Weiterentwicklung von Mainframe‑Anwendungen, insbesondere im Finanz‑ und Versicherungssektor.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing current systems, applications and developments
• Presenting ideas for system improvement, optimization and automation of current applications
• Working closely with other mainframe system engineers, business analysts, operations and staff
• Producing detailed specifications, requirements and writing the program code
• Sometimes testing the program code in controlled, real situations before going live
• Sometimes preparation of training manuals, co-education of colleagues and documentation
• Maintaining the systems and programs once they are up and running

Requirements

• Professional experience with software tools such as IBM ISPF, IBM IMS/DC, IBM CICS, IBM RACF, IBM TWS/OPC, IBM RD/z, Compuware FileAid, Compuware Xpediter, Atlassian JIRA
• Programming, markup, libraries, API: IBM Job Control Language (JCL), Common Business Oriented Language (Cobol), Structured Query Language (SQL), IBM Restructured Extended Executor (REXX), Assembler, Programming Language One (PL/1)
• Ability to use one or more development languages: COBOL, REXX, PL/1, Assembler
• Databases: IBM DB2 Mainframe, ORACLE, IBM IMS/DB
• Operating systems: Z/OS (OS390 – MVS/XA), BS2000 / OSD, Windows
• Hardware: IBM Mainframe, Windows PC
• Very good English; good German skills will be an advantage
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

About The Project

Mainframe technology continues to form the central backbone in the system landscape of large companies in the financial services industry. You will work for our international Service Center in Krakow as part of a multinational software development and operations team based in Germany and Poland, and work on various projects for insurance companies and banks with a focus on support and continuous further development or adaptation of business‑critical applications. Hybrid work (with office in Krakow) or fully remote is possible (Poland only).
