Key Account Manager – Automotive (all genders) at A123 Systems. We are looking for a Key Account Manager- Automotive (m/w/d) to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Win over new Customers (IAM Wholesalers) for A123 Systems
  • Prospect for new business and solicit new customers to expand the customer base
  • Launch and execute strategies and programs to drive growth, supporting new product launches, and execute commercial negotiations
  • Competitor analysis; collaborate with the marketing team to develop and communicate sales promotion campaigns tailored to the battery industry
  • Find new business opportunities by deeply understanding the customer and their needs
  • Identify and establish strategic relationships / partnerships within the IAM battery market
  • Maintain frequent and regular contact with customer management, purchasing, sales and other relevant stakeholders at HQ and branch level to promote A123 Systems products and services
  • Develop financial analysis to support competitive quotes and capture new business opportunities
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations with customers, ensuring a win-win while maintaining required margins
  • Develop sales forecasts, objectives, and roadmaps to exceed sales goals
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, quality, warranty, service, and other issues by coordinating support from internal departments
  • Identify the cost-effectiveness of major operational changes in relation to customer satisfaction, sales, and margins
  • Perform special assignments and analyses as directed by the Sales Director and Global Sales VP

Education & Experience

  • Strong background in B2B sales
  • 3+ years of experience selling or managing products to the IAM
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and supporting optimized sales and distribution models within the automotive aftermarket
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in the EU battery market is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven network within the IAM in Germany, or ideally EU
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make presentations to executive leadership
  • Excellent English and German language skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in commercial negotiation and contract negotiation
  • Focused on delivering results with a demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and win with customers
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
  • min. 50% travel required, including occasional international travel
