At the Institute of Lung Health and Immunity (LHI) , we explore the molecular & immunological mechanisms underlying chronic lung diseases such as COPD, lung fibrosis, asthma, lung cancer, and the complications following lung transplantation. We want to translate our findings into preventative and therapeutic approaches for patients. This position combines responsibility for maintaining a well‑functioning laboratory infrastructure with the practical implementation of your own experimental projects. As part of these projects, you will manage primary lung cell cultures (including patient‑based material), work with lung organoids and organoid‑immune cell co‑culture systems, perform CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and investigate epithelial homeostasis & stress responses. In addition, as the laboratory manager you will oversee daily laboratory operations, support researchers with technical expertise, coordinate collaborative workflows, and contribute to data analysis and project development.

If you fulfill all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 10. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 1 year but may be extended under certain circumstances.
