In this role, you will play a key role in shaping the digital evolution of our product development process. Our central technology team around new technologies (AI, Generative AI, Generative Design) is a driving force, implementation partner and enabler for cross-divisional innovation projects along the entire development process.

• You will assume overall technical responsibility for complex, cross-divisional AI initiatives, from requirements analysis to implementation.
• You will shape the roadmap for new technologies in product development and set standards.
• You will develop advanced methods and toolchains for LLMs, multimodal models, generative AI, synthetic data and AI governance.
• You coordinate the cooperation with internal and external partners and represent BMW in strategic committees.
• You coach, empower and inspire colleagues from different disciplines to promote cultural change.
• You act as a trusted advisor for specialist departments and management with clear positioning and systemic thinking.

• PhD in a STEM subject or excellent master's degree with many years of experience in AI-driven innovation projects.
• Proven track record of successfully industrialised AI solutions with rollout impact beyond teams.
• Deep methodological expertise in at least two of the areas of Generative AI, Computer Vision, NLP, MLOps or platform development.
• Sound programming skills in Python as well as experience in Java, C++ or Scala, complemented by frameworks such as LangChain, PyTorch, HuggingFace or TensorFlow.
• Experience in the technical control and integration of AI systems in a productive environment.
• Experience in the implementation and handling of country-specific regulations related to AI.
• Business fluent in German and English.
