Lead AI / Machine Learning Engineer (Remote – EST to CET)

I’m currently working with a mission-driven tech company that’s redefining online safety and privacy at global scale. They’re already protecting hundreds of millions of users, and under new leadership, they're scaling up to secure the full digital experience across platforms and personal safety domains.

As part of this transformation, I'm helping them hire a Lead AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who thrives at the intersection of applied AI and real-world systems design.

🧠 In This Role, You Will:

• Lead the design and deployment of LLM-based solutions (currently using VertexAI) to power intelligent, scalable safety features
• Build and scale automation pipelines (leveraging tools like n8n) that enhance user protection while maintaining performance and privacy
• Own the full ML lifecycle, from model experimentation and tuning to robust production rollout
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, data, and product
• Contribute to technical strategy and mentor engineers around you

🔧 What We’re Looking For:

• Deep hands-on experience with machine learning systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) and experience deploying them at scale (VertexAI experience is a plus!)
• Experience building automation/data workflows, ideally using tools like n8n or similar
• Solid backend/cloud expertise (GCP preferred), strong API design skills
• Clear, structured communicator who can lead technical discussions and guide team direction
