About the Role:

You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility transforming digital models into physical elements at scale. Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will be trusted to solve problems efficiently and effectively building on solid architecture and operational foundation and will be encouraged to seek out under‑attended topics and assume responsibility for them both within your product area as well as across product areas.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a software development team both disciplinarily and from the delivery roadmap.
• Work in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on‑prem), managing complex software deployments at scale.
• Strengthen the operational mindset in Product Delivery with a focus on monitoring, alerting and controlled feature rollout.
• Act as a sparring partner for Product Managers and stakeholders to manage requirements and priorities.
• Deliver features and improvements according to the roadmap and in alignment with Product Management.
• Support your directs in professional and career development based on their strengths and weaknesses in alignment with the team’s and company’s needs.

Qualifications:

• Experienced software engineer leader with a strong background in software operations.
• Proficient in key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines (incl. quality assurance), and scaling.
• Shone experience operating and supporting large‑scale software systems in cloud and non‑cloud environments (on‑premise).
• Experience working in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing, and an understanding of the commercial impact of system downtime.
• Experience integrating external systems such as ERP or logistics systems is a plus.
• Experience leading and developing engineers at various levels.

Technical Proficiency:

• Kotlin / SpringBoot
• Kubernetes
• Linux
• PostgreSQL
• BPMN / Optimization (plus)
• Python / Bash (plus)

Additional Requirements:

• Cloud Operations experience – Azure is a bonus.
• Familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems.
• Experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs – a bonus.
• Frequent travel within Germany for in‑person team events and visits to our manufacturing location (every 6 weeks).
