Lead Mixed Signal Design Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead/Senior Mixed-Signal Design Engineer who is passionate about cutting-edge data converter design. If you have deep expertise in Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) and Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), and want to work on full-cycle development - from concept through silicon validation - this role is for you.

This will be a hybrid role in Aachen, with 1-2 days onsite required per week.

What You’ll Do

• Lead or contribute to the design of ADC and DAC architectures, with a clear understanding of performance metrics and application-specific trade-offs.
• Design critical building blocks including bandgaps, CMOS bias generators, TIAs, op-amps, filters, LDOs, and switched-cap circuits.
• Develop behavioral models and perform architecture-level trade-off and feasibility analysis.
• Use industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso) for schematic entry, simulation, and verification - ideally with a track record of successful tapeouts.
• Design for high precision in challenging conditions (e.g., device mismatch, high supply noise).
• Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure parasitic-aware and well-matched layout implementations.
• Support first-silicon bring-up, debug, and lab validation.
• Create design documentation and assist with IP integration into end products.
• Contribute to modeling and simulation in C, MATLAB, or Verilog environments.

What We’re Looking For

Solid foundation in mixed-signal circuit theory and hands-on experience with ADC/DAC design.
8-10 years industry experience OR PhD + 5 years industry.
Proven ability to make informed architectural decisions and navigate design trade-offs.
Experience working in advanced CMOS nodes (22FDX, FinFET, FD-SOI).

This would be a hybrid role in Aachen, ideally 2-3 days per week onsite.
