Location: Europe (Remote)

Responsibilities

The team is looking for a Lead Platform Developer (PHP) to take a hands‑on leadership role within the backend engineering group. You’ll lead by example—writing production‑quality code, collaborating across departments, and making key technical decisions that impact scalability, integrations, and architectural direction. You’ll work closely with Product Owners and internal Architects to ensure clean, on‑time delivery, while also mentoring other engineers and contributing to platform‑wide improvements in performance and reliability.

• Take the lead on backend development for platform projects, including integrations, performance, and architectural improvements
• Partner with Product Owners (non‑technical) to align business goals with delivery plans
• Collaborate across backend, frontend, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams on full‑cycle projects
• Balance hands‑on coding (~80%) with high‑level guidance, mentoring, and cross‑functional coordination (~20%)
• Drive backend scalability—supporting growth from 11M to 30M+ bets per day
• Guide technical execution of operator integrations, new feature builds, and stability initiatives
• Contribute to knowledge‑sharing, advocate for secure coding practices, and uphold compliance standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in PHP, including experience in performance‑heavy platforms
• Deep understanding of MySQL performance tuning and large‑scale DB optimization
• Proven track record building real‑money gaming platforms (e.g., RNG, crash, live dealer, slots)
• Strong grasp of the gaming ecosystem—understanding operator and platform provider needs
• Experience making senior‑level technical decisions in fast‑moving environments
• API integration experience (with operators, remote game servers, or third‑party platforms)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Java, Python, or Node.js
• Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, or Jenkins/CI pipelines
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or managed SQL services)
• Background in performance optimization for platforms handling millions of transactions daily
