Lead Researcher – Disaggregated Datacenter Network Virtualization

Huawei's Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products. The Cloud platform is growing and Huawei Cloud is one of the largest and fastest-growing platforms in the world, with over 40 availability zones across 4 continents and 23 geographical regions.

Your mission

Lead the design and research of next-generation network virtualization for disaggregated datacenter infrastructures
Architect and prototype elastic, high-performance and reliable IO virtualization frameworks tailored for serverless and cloud-native environments
Publish influential research, file patents, and contribute to open-source ecosystems and top industry forums
Drive collaborations with leading universities and research institutions

Your areas of expertise

Master or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
Extensive R&D experience in Datacenter Infrastructures
Deep understanding and hands-on experience in several of the following:

Datacenter network architecture and software-defined networking
DPDK, Open vSwitch (OVS), VirtIO, and KVM/Qemu
SmartNICs, SR-IOV, PCIe device passthrough, and hardware offloading
TCP/IP protocol stack and RDMA internals

Proven track record through publications, patents, or open-source contributions
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Familiarity with CXL (Compute Express Link) or UEC (Ultra Ethernet Consortium) architecture and its implications for memory pooling and device disaggregation is a plus
