The Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, is an internationally renowned institute of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft with a staff of 400 working in the field of fundamental research in chemistry, physics and materials research.

Leader of a Max Planck Research Group on “Theory of Novel Materials” (W2 Federal Civil Service Remuneration Act)

Ihr Aufgabengebiet:

The applicant is assumed to be a recognized researcher with several years of post-doctoral experience in condensed-matter theory, and working experience with state-of-the art analytical or numerical theory of novel materials. It is expected that the successful applicant will be ready to start a new group; with full independence as regards the research topic.

Ihr Profil:

The Max Planck Research Group is limited to a term of six years. Depending on the progress of the work and taking into account the financial possibilities and those under labour legislation, your employment can be extended by three years on an individual basis according to scientific criteria and after a positive evaluation. The position includes an independent budget for personnel, running costs, and investment, office space for students and postdocs, and use of the research infrastructure of the institute.
