Lean Industrial System Design Engineer (m/f/d) AIRBUS

As a Lean Industrial System Design Engineer (m/f/d) in the FAL Industrial Architecture department (cross-program), you will collaborate closely with various Final Assembly Lines (SA, WB, A220) to define, develop, deploy, and mature industrial solutions addressing key aircraft program challenges: delivering on time and with quality, reducing development and production lead times, lowering product and process development costs as well as recurring costs, and enabling faster production ramp-up. The team provides and implements New Processes, Methods and Tools (including Industrial Systems Design, Modelling and Simulation) to improve and predict Airbus industrial performance.

• Contribute to the industrial system design of Airbus Final Assembly Lines for current and future programs
• Support key industrialization projects by applying manufacturing line design expertise to ensure tangible benefits and long-term performance
• Evaluate and challenge current and future industrial solutions, providing recommendations to Industrial Architects using innovative digital capabilities
• Develop manufacturing line design methodologies to address business priorities

Qualifications

• A degree in Automotive Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
• Professional experience in engineering, jigs and tools, manufacturing engineering, and process improvement
• Experience with process simulations is beneficial
• Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Management principles
• Basic working knowledge of SAP and CATIA V5
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage
• Ability to quickly identify and analyze technical interdependencies and functionalities
• Independent, structured, and results‑oriented work to achieve goals on schedule and efficiently coordinate workflows
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
• Willingness to travel (within Europe, approx. once per quarter)
• Interviews will be conducted in English
