Legal Counsel (d/f/m)

Make online trading safer and simpler. As Legal Counsel (d/f/m) at Kleinanzeigen, you partner with product and business teams to turn regulation into sound product decisions and compliant growth. You cover commercial contracts and product/consumer topics, translating legal complexity into clear, pragmatic guidance. This hybrid role is based in Berlin. You report to the Legal Director, Kleinanzeigen.

What you’ll do:

• Commercial & contracts: Advise and negotiate commercial agreements end-to-end (templates, redlines, deal support) with partners and external parties.

• Product & launches: Lead legal input for product and feature launches; review customer journeys, T&Cs and policies to balance risk and growth.

• Regulatory enablement: Translate new requirements (e.g., consumer and platform rules, privacy) into clear guidance, playbooks and processes.

• Business partnering: Serve as the legal point of contact for Product, Marketing, Advertising and Customer Service; drive crisp decisions and escalations.

• Legal operations & processes: Design and run scalable legal processes (e.g., intake/triage, CLM, playbooks, clause libraries); set clear governance, SLAs and metrics; drive continuous improvements.

• Stakeholders & counsel: Coordinate Finance, HR, Tax, Privacy and Information Security, and manage external counsel when specialist advice is required.

Who you are:

• Qualification & level: You’re a fully qualified German lawyer (Zweites Staatsexamen) or equivalent and have approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience in‑house and/or in a law firm.

• Contracting: Strong drafting and negotiation across complex commercial agreements.

• Product/consumer/platform acumen: You turn regulatory demands into pragmatic product guidance.

• Influence, structure & clarity: Clear, concise communicator who advises in real time; highly structured and process‑mind‑ed; you set up simple, scalable workflows and keep them on track.

• Languages & tech: You’re business‑fluent in German and English, comfortable with legal tech and you use AI tools responsibly to increase speed without sacrificing quality.
