As we continue to expand our project portfolio in Elements Green Deutschland GmbH, we are looking for a Legal Counsel (m/f/d) in full-time to support our projects across the full lifecycle—from development and construction to operation.

Summary of the role and key responsibilities Provide legal support to BESS projects across the full project lifecycle, with a focus on development and construction. Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of project agreements, including EPC and BoP contracts, supply agreements, land lease agreements and other project-related contracts. Support the London HQ and other international locations of Elements Green in contractual matters and involvement in global project development or construction processes. Assist with the management and assessment of contractor claims, variation orders, delay claims and extension of time (EOT) claims. Work closely with project development teams on development-stage agreements, grid connection and cooperation agreements. Central interface function: Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations and risk allocation in project contracts. Coordinate with landowners and their lawyers on land lease agreement topics. Help implement effective claims management and dispute avoidance strategies. Support and conduct negotiations with contractors, suppliers and other project partners. Coordinate with external counsel on specific legal matters and disputes where required. Legal support of corporate housekeeping for project-specific SPVs, including drafting resolutions and managing commercial register filings. Support legal due diligence processes. Legal support in planning and permitting procedures (e.g., BImSchG, building permits) to ensure the timely development of BESS projects. Monitor, analyse and assess legal and regulatory developments and preparation of relevant information for internal teams. Contribute to the development and improvement of internal legal and contract management processes, such as standardisation and optimisation of contract templates.

Key Requirements Fully qualified German lawyer 2+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in energy, infrastructure or construction projects either in an international law firm or in-house. Experience with project contracts (e.g., land-securing, EPC, supply or O&M contracts) is desirable. Experience in working with notary‘s offices, external law firms and technical teams. Interest in renewable energy and energy infrastructure, particularly battery storage. Familiarity with international contract standards such as the FIDIC Silver Book. Strong analytical and communication skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional international project teams. Excellent written and spoken German and English.
