Leo - Leading Role with Voice Over

Project Title: Anchorage | High-End Cinematic Short & Apple Spec Spot

YOUR ROLE

This is a leading role with English Dialogue for the male role Leo.

Qualifications

• European appearance and North European Appearance are preferred. Still everybody can apply and will get an answer!
• At least fluent English is required.
• You need to have a showreel or an acting qualification (ideally both)

Special feature

Lukas narrates the commercial and short film via voice-over. Please send a short voice sample (a cell phone recording is sufficient). The voice-over recording will be done separately in the SAE studio.

Character Description

Leo is a sensitive young man who defines himself through his art. He carries the burden of a transgenerational traumatic experience ("Inheriting shadows I didn't cast"). His development leads him from powerlessness to self-empowerment.

SYNOPSIS: Anchorage

Logline

After discovering his father's dark past, a young digital artist finds the strength to leave behind a legacy of violence and find his own voice through a community of diverse but like-minded people.

Story

Leo escapes the cold reality of his alcoholic father Jack through digital art. Discovering a youth welfare report, he realizes Jack's aggression is an echo of transgenerational trauma coming from Edward, the father of Jack. In a drawing event with Kofi/Zuri, Muhammad/Fatima, and Wei/Fang, Leo finds healing and collective euphoria.

THE VISION

"Anchorage" is a high-ambition hybrid project. We are filming a narrative short film (approximately 3.5 min). This footage will be used to simultaneously edit a cinematic Apple Spec Spot (approximately 2‑2.5 min).

DATES & LOGISTICS

Shooting Dates

Feb 12th – 16th, 2026. Only apply if you can make it to those Shooting Dates!

Commitment

3 planned days + 1 potential (if needed) pickup day (approx. 5‑6h per session).

I would appreciate if you also can make it on 1 or all of the dates between the Jan 30th - Feb 02th, 2026, because I need to finish the Spec Spot till the Mar 06th for my school. If everything works out with the Team and Locations, we will shoot in that time frame, so we do not need to shoot on the dates Feb 12th – 16th, 2026.

However for Feb 12th – 16th, 2026 we already have locations. Therefore, if you cannot take part at the shoot Jan 30th - Feb 02th, 2026, but can on Feb 12th – 16th, 2026, you still can apply.

Shooting Locations

We shoot in 3 Locations: in a Park, in a Seminar Room of my School and in a flat, which looks like it from an old person. All in Berlin. Note: Travel and accommodation costs cannot be covered.

FAIR PARTICIPATION (Pool Model)

To honor and motivate the crew and cast’s contribution, any eventual revenue (festival prize money or monetization) will be handled transparently.

Cost Recovery

First, all out-of-pocket production costs (catering, equipment, logistics) are covered.

Even Split

All subsequent net profits go into a pool shared equally among all cast and crew members.

PROCESS

1. Video Casting: If I like your application, I send you further details regarding the script part you record the acting for and do a voice recording for me (Phone is enough but good Audio is needed)
2. Video Call or In Person Casting: Depending on availability we meet digitally or in person so I can judge your live performance.
3. When I pick you, you will get the contract: Standard industry release forms (Rights Clearance) for festival/web usage.
4. We do one last call for the character preparation.
5. Now lets have some fun :)
