Your Role

We’re looking for a Level Artist to bring our gameplay spaces to life with detail, atmosphere, and strong gameplay clarity. You will dress and polish villages, dungeons and other playable areas — balancing beauty with function to guide the player and enhance the overall experience in Solid River.

You will work closely with Environment Artists and Game Designers to ensure every location supports gameplay while feeling rich, immersive, and part of a cohesive world.

Responsibilities

  • Dress and polish gameplay areas such as village layouts and dungeons
  • Balancevisual beauty with gameplay readabilityto ensure smooth navigation and player engagement
  • Handleasset placement, lighting adjustments, and environment storytellingat the micro level
  • Collaborate with Game Designers to integrate artistic vision with gameplay flow and technical constraints
  • Optimize levels for performance without compromising visual quality

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Level Artist, Environment Artist, or similar role on AAA titles
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visually rich and gameplay-friendly environments
  • Proficiency withUnreal Engine 5and industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, or similar
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and environmental storytelling
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical and gameplay requirements
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Onsite position in Munich
Nice to have
  • Experience in open-world or survival game development
  • Familiarity with modular asset workflows and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of player guidance methods through visual cues
  • Understanding of lighting for gameplay clarity and atmosphere
