Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership to other Software engineers and building up a technical team.
  • Define the architecture of the digital twin to ensure scalability, robustness, security and performance for long‑term growth.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and integrating core technologies and frameworks that form the foundation of our digital twin platform.
  • Hands‑on implementation of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of the digital twin platform to validate architectural decisions and demonstrate feasibility.
  • Enabling the digital twin platform for future AI/ML integration, ensuring infrastructure readiness for advanced analytics and model deployment.
  • Setting up and maintaining the foundational software engineering infrastructure, including remote development environments and relevant tool chains.
  • Coordinating and guiding an external software development team (based in Europe), including defining feature priorities, reviewing code quality, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, and providing technical leadership.
  • Supporting the set up and growth of an internal software development team, contributing to hiring, onboarding, and fostering a strong technical culture.
  • Collaborating closely with the Product Manager to translate product requirements into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
  • Actively participating in customer and research projects, gathering insights, and contributing to the technical direction of LifeSaver based on real‑world needs.
  • Building a solid understanding of the emergency medical services and disaster preparedness domain, and monitoring technologies relevant to this field.
  • Contributing to R&D and innovation programmes.

Qualifications – Technical Skills

  • Master's degree in computer science or a similar field.
  • At least 7+ years of practical experience in software development.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems, particularly in a cloud‑native environment.
  • Extensive experience with evaluating, selecting, and integrating technology stacks, frameworks, and tools to meet complex functional and non‑functional requirements (e.g., scalability, security, performance, maintainability).
  • In‑depth knowledge of C# (.NET); experience with Java, Python, or Go is a plus.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices.
  • In‑depth knowledge of containerization (Docker); experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL); experience with data formats like Parquet and query engines like DuckDB is a plus.
  • Experience with API design and familiarity with data streaming technologies.
  • Solid understanding of front‑end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React) to build prototype/MVP applications and support front‑end technology selection.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and the setup of remote development environments for robust development workflows.

  • A genuine interest in developing “technology for good” that can improve access to essential medical services to many people around the world.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills and ability to develop simple solutions that balance customer needs with technical feasibility and budget constraints.
  • Strong coordination skills, with proven experience managing technical aspects of external development teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Strong team player who is willing to work in a very diverse and international environment with occasional travel.
  • Action‑oriented, organised, autonomous, and with a start‑up mindset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication (English; German is a plus), able to convey complex technical concepts and strategic vision.
