The International School of Stuttgart e.V. is a non‑profit Kindergarten through 12th grade, NEASC accredited, IB World School offering an international curriculum to a student body of about 880 from over 40 nations. Full‑time Lower School Learning Assistant (All Gender)

Starting as soon as possible. This position is initially for one year.

Responsibilities

• Support inquiry-based learning within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), assisting students as they explore ideas, ask questions, and develop understanding.
• Work closely with homeroom teachers in the Early Years to support a collaborative learning environment and facilitate engaging, student‑centred learning experiences.
• Provide support to individual students and small groups to help them access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence as learners.
• Contribute to a positive and caring classroom environment, supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
• Assist with the Extended School Day and vacation programmes as part of our 3 / 4 Seasons Nest Programme until the end of the current School Year.
• Support classroom routines and learning activities, and, where appropriate, assist with supervision of students across the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
• An interest in inquiry-based and child‑centred learning.
• A warm, patient, and collaborative approach to working with children and colleagues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team within an international school environment.
• A kind, generous, and good‑humoured nature, with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
