Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a highly detail‑oriented and process‑driven Management Accountant with deep expertise in Fixed Asset (FA) Accounting under both HGB (German GAAP) and IFRS frameworks. This candidate brings strong technical capabilities in end‑to‑end fixed asset lifecycle management, paired with the patience, resilience, and continuous‑improvement mindset needed to operate in complex, fast‑moving finance environments.

Essential Job Functions

Monthly Close Procedures

This role focuses on managing all fixed asset–related accounting activities for data centres under construction, including accurate booking of construction invoices directly to FA accounts, ensuring proper capitalization, and maintaining full compliance with HGB and IFRS throughout the construction lifecycle.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for monthly internal reporting.
• Assist in compiling quarterly and annual audited financial statements and footnotes.

Audit Support

• Provide audit support by preparing reconciliations and documentation for year‑end audits.
• Maintain accurate and timely reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in coordinating with internal and external auditors.

Non‑Routine Projects

• Participate in various projects such as financial system upgrades, acquisitions, and other ad‑hoc initiatives as needed.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

Core Technical Expertise

• Strong end‑to‑end Fixed Asset Accounting experience (asset creation to disposal).
• Confident working under HGB (German GAAP) and IFRS, especially:
  • IAS 16 – Property, Plant & Equipment
  • IAS 36 – Impairments
  • IFRS 5 – Assets Held for Sale
• Deep understanding of CapEx vs OpEx rules, capitalization criteria, and component accounting.
• Skilled in depreciation methods, useful life assessments, revaluations, impairments, and valuation adjustments.
• Ability to manage data‑centre or large‑scale construction‑in‑progress (CIP) environments.
• Strong experience with reconciliations, FA subledger vs GL matching, month‑end and year‑end close.
• Experience supporting audits and preparing required documentation.

Process & Systems Skills

• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Asset onboarding, transfers, intercompany movements.
  • Maintaining asset history sheets and depreciation reports.
  • Processing disposals, retirements, and gain/loss calculations.
• Demonstrated ability to improve, standardize, and document FA processes.
• Exposure to automation, workflow optimization, and improving internal controls.
• Experience in multinational / multi‑entity environments.
• Experience with ERP systems (Yardi is a plus).

Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills

• Strong analytical mindset for identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, or control gaps.
• Comfortable working with large data volumes and multiple stakeholders.

• Highly detail‑oriented, structured, and consistent in repetitive yet critical FA processes.
• Resilient, persistent, and able to work through incomplete data or system constraints.

• Strong organizational skills: ability to meet deadlines in fast‑paced environments.

• Fluent in English and German B2 level is required.

Typical Experience Level

• 3–7+ years in Accounting / Controlling with a focus on Fixed Assets.
• Experience in audits, regulatory reporting, or working with construction‑related CapEx.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Up to 5% travel expected but may increase over time as the business evolves.
