In this role you act as subject matter expert responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OHS policies, procedures, and best practices. This role ensures full compliance with applicable national, international and corporate health and safety regulations and leads dedicated projects to enhance workplace safety. The OHS Manager conducts ship visits to investigate accidents, near misses, and workplace risks, manages accident reporting and statistics, and collaborates with the OHS team to foster a positive safety culture across the organization.

Your Responsibilities:

Act as subject matter expert for Occupational Health and Safety, ensuring development, continuous improvement and implementation of OHS procedures, processes, and best practices
Ensure and maintain compliance with applicable national, international and corporate health and safety regulations, and execute dedicated projects
Undertake ship visits as required to follow up on accidents, near misses, investigations, and workplace risk assessments
Execute review and proper management of accident reports received from the vessels; support in preparation of accident and incident statistics as required
Work with the Occupational Health and Safety team to identify opportunities to improve safety culture and support the safety program as required

Your Profile:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or Officer’s license in the maritime field (minimum certification II/1).
Professional experience in Occupational Health and Safety within the Italian regulatory framework, or in marine safety or the maritime sector would be desired
Solid knowledge of OHS management systems, particularly ISO 45001 standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Strong understanding of workplace safety principles and risk management
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication across teams and with corporate functions
Well-developed analytical skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team player
