Manager - Tax Compliance (f/m/d)

Overview

Manager - Tax Compliance (f/m/d) at Deutsche Börse. Part of Group Tax – the central tax department – you will ensure VAT compliance across German entities, drive process improvements, contribute to strategic tax initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders. Location: Frankfurt, Germany.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of VAT returns, EC sales lists, and annual VAT declarations for German group entities
• Strategic involvement in year-end closing processes and tax audits
• Acting as a senior point of contact for complex VAT-related matters across the organization
• Leading the enhancement of VAT-relevant processes and compliance tools – especially regarding input VAT allocation and automation
• Close collaboration with internal departments (Accounting, Legal, IT) and external advisors
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing within the tax function and with other stakeholders

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as a tax clerk, further qualification as a certified accountant or tax specialist, or a university degree in business administration with a focus on taxation or finance
• At least 5 years of professional experience in VAT compliance, ideally within the financial services industry or a multinational corporation
• Strong expertise in ERP systems and VAT compliance tools (e.g. VERA, Vertex); experience in process automation is a plus
• Strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English
