The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Frankfurt am Main Branch is a licensed commercial bank in Germany and has been successfully operating in the German market for more than 40 years. The Bank has a long-standing track record in facilitating cross-border trade finance and banking services between German/EU exporters and importers and their counterparts in Pakistan as well as South and West Asian countries.

To further strengthen its Senior Management Structure the Bank is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional for the position of Managing Director – Marktfolge (Geschäftsleiter Marktfolge) as soon as possible.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be appointed as Geschäftsleiter Marktfolge and will be responsible for managing the Branch’s affairs jointly with the Managing Director – Markt (Geschäftsleiter Markt) in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework, in particular Section 25c of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG).

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Joint overall management and representation of the Branch in line with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements
• Responsibility for Marktfolge functions, including credit administration, risk management, compliance, internal controls, and back-office operations
• Ensuring an orderly business organization, effective internal control systems, and robust risk management frameworks
• Close cooperation with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with BaFin, ECB (where applicable), and internal group policies
• Contributing to the strategic development and sustainable growth of the Branch

Candidate Profile

• Proven professional qualification and reliability in line with Section 25C of the German Banking Act (KWG)
• Minimum Qualification: Graduate in Business and or Law
• Experience: At least three years of managerial experience in a similar institution
• Several years of senior management experience in banking, preferably in credit institutions with international or trade finance exposure
• Strong expertise in credit risk, operational risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements under German and EU banking law
• Ability to dedicate sufficient time to the role and meet regulatory requirements regarding mandates
• Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Fluency in English and German language skills are highly desirable
