Marketing Communications Manager

Outer GmbH is the parent company behind some of the most significant projects in experimental music and contemporary art. Through Outer we have designed, curated and operated Berlin Atonal since 2013 - now one of the world’s most recognisable platforms for experimental performance, music, and new modalities of artistic presentation. We also operate Outer Agency, a leading management and booking agency working at the intersection of electronic music, live art, and performance, and we continue to develop new event formats and cultural projects internationally.

We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team on a part time basis (3 days a week), based in Berlin or working remotely. This is a role for someone who works well autonomously, knows how to extract what they need from a small and busy team, and is genuinely embedded in the culture we operate in.

The role sits primarily across our festival and events programme. In the active project periods you will lead the marketing strategy and promotional delivery for each project - coordinating artist communications and social content, managing our PR company relationship, overseeing photographers and a videographer team on the ground, and driving the overall communications output across all channels. In the quieter periods between projects you will focus on year‑round social media management, building out our YouTube presence as a content platform, and supporting artist communications in collaboration with Outer Agency.

Key responsibilities

• Marketing strategy and promotional delivery across Outer’s festivals and events
• Year‑round social media management across all platforms
• Managing and developing our relationship with our PR company
• Building and developing Outer’s YouTube channel as a content platform – live recordings, behind the scenes, and editorial content
• Coordinating artist communications and leveraging artist channels for promotion
• On‑site management of photographers and videographer teams during events
• Supporting agency artist communications in the off season

What we’re looking for

Someone autonomous and self-directed who can own this function without needing to be closely managed. You will be working with a small, passionate team on projects at the genuinely cutting edge of experimental music and contemporary art.
